A Poem for Petit Paradis

poem cedar

i dreamt i was living in a cedar tree
in Rotterdam
eating birds
and eggs
and wind
and fog
and the fleas of squirrels
and knotted burls

and

one day
when the sun was weak
and
the clouds were strong

i let go and fell
fell
fell

and you caught me

(what a little paradise that was)
